About:
Hi, I’m Victoria Marie Tidball (vmt) and I’m an artist.Art has always been my favorite form of expression, a way to explore, experiment, and connect with the world. On the Gallery page of this site, you can explore my work, which ranges from ocean-inspired paintings to more experimental pieces.
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to making things, especially handmade cards and gifts for family and friends. There are several boxes full of old artworks like the one below at my childhood home in New York. It appears I've been a fan of mixed media from the start!

A beach scene, 2006
As life grew busier, I drifted away from creating, but during my studies at Cornell University I found my way back. Painting and writing became my outlet, a way to quiet the anxieties of school and “put the bees to sleep.” The isolation of Covid only deepened my creative practice, as I turned to art for grounding and expression.

Exploring the ethereal and spirituality
After graduating, I spent some time living in France, reconnecting with myself and searching for inspiration. The ocean and its creatures captured my heart and my paintbrush, becoming both my passion and my muse. Later, I moved to Miami to pursue Marine Biology alongside my art.

The sea in Marseille, France 2022

Art Basel, Miami 2023

Scuba expedition, Florida 2025
My work as a Marine Biologist has inspired many of my paintings and projects. I believe these two passions of mine work in tandem and will continue to intertwine more and more as I dive deeper into both. This is how I discovered my social media name "art sea vmt". These days, I'm either in the ocean or I'm painting it!

While marine life remains a theme in my work, I also explore femininity, fantasy, spirituality, and the beauty of nature in all its forms. I don’t feel clicked into one style or niche yet and honestly, that’s part of the joy. I love experimenting, trying new things, and following what excites me.I hope something here resonates with you, and maybe even inspires you to join me on this creative journey. With Love,Victoria
